Blindness and Perception: Book, Exhibit Shine A Light On The Visual Experience

Michael Nye/Vimeo

Photographer Michael Nye's new book, "My Heart Is Not Blind," features personal portraits of a diverse group of individuals living with vision loss.
For Nye and his subjects, perception is more than just the sense of sight or an ability to "see."

What can we learn from these intimate stories? How can we better understand the nature of survival and adaptation?

In Bexar County, there are an estimated 15,000 peoplewho are blind or live with visual impairment. What resources are available in the community for those who are seeking support or services?
